Chief Development Officer
As Chief Development Officer of CA Ventures, Sean is responsible for leading all development and construction activities across CA’s Student Living, Senior Housing and Multifamily verticals.
Sean plays an active role in determining CA’s risk management, pre-development, entitlement and construction implementation strategies – bringing this comprehensive perspective as a member of CA Ventures Investment Committee.
Sean’s leadership role includes bridging the acquisitions, development and construction teams to support interdepartmental collaboration and efficiency in a continual effort to integrate consistent implementation protocol and delivery quality to all CA developments.
During Sean’s 20+ year development career, he has been involved with over 10MM square feet of industrial, 2MM square feet of office, 500K square feet of retail and over 2,500 units of multifamily and student housing development.
Immediately prior to joining CA, Sean was the Vice President and General Manager of Opus Development Company, where he managed development and construction initiatives across all sectors – including multifamily, industrial, office, retail as well as led Opus’ national student housing development platform.
Sean holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree from Purdue University. In addition, Sean serves on Purdue University’s Presidential Council, Purdue University’s Civil Engineering Advisory Board and is a board member for Catholic Charities of Chicago.
Executive VP – Development
Matt Booma serves as Executive Vice President of CA Senior Living and CA Residential, overseeing current and future senior developments. Matt focuses on all aspects of development including site feasibility, financial feasibility, site acquisition, building programming, entitlement, due diligence, contract negotiation, design oversight, technology implementation, construction management, budget oversight and civic coordination.
A keen eye for detail, Matt brings over a decade of experience as an architect to each CA development. Matt completed a variety of projects both domestically and internationally with Perkins + Will, working on higher education, residential, health care, hospitality, retail and office project types.
Matt holds a Masters of Architecture and Bachelors of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a licensed architect and a LEED accredited professional.
Senior VP – Development
Bethany Crispin serves as the Senior Vice President of Construction Management and is responsible for construction procurement and administration in the Senior Living Group. In addition, she works closely with CA’s consultants on planning and design to ensure the projects are on budget from conception to closeout. Bethany provides oversight to the CA Senior Living Project Managers and their projects.
Bethany brings over 20 years of experience in both senior and multiunit residential housing. The majority of her career has been spent working for large general contractors in the Minneapolis, Milwaukee and Chicago markets. She has a vast knowledge in value engineering, constructability, scheduling, estimating and budgeting for construction starting with conceptual design.
Bethany received her two Bachelor of Science degrees in Architectural Engineering and Construction Management from Milwaukee School of Engineering. She also did graduate work in Operations Management at Lewis University.
Senior VP – Development
Scott McLamore serves as SVP of Construction Management, overseeing and managing the construction team and all project managers. He is also responsible for direct operations from planning through development for multiple new CA projects.
Scott has over 20 years experience in Construction Management Services. Prior to CA, he was employed as a Senior Manager with Lincoln Property Company as well as Joseph Freed and Associates. Scott worked extensively on the redevelopment of a large scale mixed-use project at the Hilldale Shopping Center in Madison, Sullivan Center and Block 37 in the Chicago Loop district. His previous responsibilities included overseeing all aspects of construction management from the creation of a complete design package to directing and managing of on-site operations, coordinating budget activities, and monitoring installation schedules to ensure on-time project delivery.
Scott received his bachelor of arts degree from the University of Texas.
Senior VP – Development
Brad Moeller serves as Senior Vice President of Construction Management for CA Student Living and oversees the construction and management team. Since Brad’s arrival in 2011, he has overseen over 2.5 billion in development and construction in various positions within the Student Living Development team.
Brad joined CA Ventures from Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture, where he worked for seven years managing design and construction for numerous residential and mixed use projects, including some for CA Student Living. Prior to Hartshorne Plunkard, he worked for Northeast Collaborative Architects in Newport, Rhode Island, where he gained experience in designing a wide range of building types, including student housing developments.
Brad holds degrees in Architecture and Landscape Architecture from Miami University as well as a Master of Architecture and MBA from the University of Illinois. He is a Licensed Architect in the State of Illinois, and a LEED Accredited Professional.
Senior VP - Construction
As Development Director of CA Ventures Europe Tom oversees development and construction work across CA’s Student living and PRS verticals in the UK and Ireland. Tom ensures the implementation of all due diligence aspects of land acquisition, planning applications, procurement strategies and delivery of the product to the operational teams. The risk management and mitigation measures that Tom oversees ensures a streamlined well managed process from cradle to grave.
Tom has huge experience in the Student and PRS worlds having delivered over 12,000 student beds, circa $2bn across the UK and Ireland at Knightsbridge Student Housing/ Threesixty developments never late and on budget. Tom immediately prior to joining CA- Ventures was a Development Director working at the Watkin Jones Group. The leading developer in purpose built student accommodation and private rented sector developer/ contractor in the UK where he was involved in the groups largest student portfolio disposal to date, negotiation of forward funding agreements, site acquisition and planning.
Tom brings over 13 years’ experience in the construction and real estate industries. He is a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS), he graduated from Leeds University in Biochemistry with BSc (Hons) before going down the non- cognate route into surveying.
VP - Pre-Construction
As Vice President of Pre-Construction, Hardik Patel leads pre-construction efforts for Student Living and Multifamily Residential verticals and manages risk by creating successful strategies on projects during pre-construction. He works closely with the pre-development team throughout acquisitions, design management, entitlement and construction feasibility to commencement.
Hardik has 20 years of experience in estimating and pre-construction. Before joining CA Ventures, he led the Pre-Construction and Estimating team at Weis Builders and was heavily involved in projects of all asset types including Retail, Senior Living, Multi-Family, Student Housing and Hospitality.
Hardik received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Northeastern Illinois University. He is also a LEED Accredited Professional.
