CA Ventures History:
A Focused, Deliberate Pathway

Founded in 2004, CA Ventures is a real estate investment holding company based in Chicago, IL, with over 250 employees. While initially focused on student housing, CA Ventures’ service offering expanded quickly in response to client requirements and currently includes investment and acquisition support, development and renovation, equity and debt sourcing, and asset management services in multi-family residential, office, hospitality, and senior lifestyle.

CA Ventures serves as the holding company for the CA family of companies, including CA Student Living, CA Residential, CA Senior Ventures, CA Office / Vanderbilt Partners, CA International, CA Hospitality and CA Asset Services.

2004

  • Campus Acquisitions founded by Tom Scott

2008

  • Campus Acquisitions opens 2 student properties

2009

  • Campus Acquisitions opens 2 student properties, marking 1,000+ beds

2010

  • Campus Acquisitions opens 1 student property

2012

  • Campus Acquisitions opens 3 student properties
  • Campus Acquisitions rebrands as CA Ventures to focus on student, senior, multi-family, office, hospitality, and international
  • CA Student, CA Office, CA Residential, CA Senior & CA Hospitality are formed
  • CA International is formed to pursue student development in South America

2013

  • CA Student opens 3 properties
  • CA Office acquires 505 Waterford – Minneapolis

2014

  • CA Hospitality opens its first hotel; Hyatt Place – Champaign
  • CA Residential and White Oak Realty open Arkadia Tower – Chicago
  • CA Student opens 8 properties, acquires 2 properties and marks 5,000+ beds
  • CA Office acquires Renaissance Complex – Overland Park
  • CA Senior closes on Olathe acquisition

2015

  • CA Office acquires Palmer Plaza – Nashville
  • CA Office rebrands as CA Office/Vanderbilt Partners
  • CA Office/Vanderbilt acquires Duke portfolio for $1.1 billion
  • CA Student acquires 6 Campus Crest development sites
  • CA Senior closes on Wheaton, Grayslake, Overland Park
  • CA International closes on 3 development sites in South America
  • CA Hospitality opens Hyatt Place – Bloomington/Normal
  • CA Student opens 10 properties and marks 10,000+ beds
